HARMONISATION OF LABELLING OF WINES – VINTAGE OR HARVEST YEAR INDICATION

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

CONSIDERING the OIV International Standard for the labelling of wines,

CONSIDERING that the prescriptions concerning labelling standards should not create unnecessary obstacles to international trade,

CONSIDERING that it is advisable to provide clear and useful informations about all wines for the consumers,

ADOPTS the following amendment to the International Standard for the labelling of wines:

In Article 3.1.5. „Vintage or harvest year“ the first sentence „This term is reserved for wines benefiting from a recognised geographic indication or a recognised appellation of origin.“ is deleted.
