RESOLUTION AG 1/2002

THE 82nd GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

MET IN Bratislava (Slovakia) on 28 June 2002 at the end of the XXVII World Congress of Vine and Wine, which was held from 24 to 27 June 2002, upon the invitation of the Government of Slovakia:

EXPRESSES GRATITUDE to Mr. Eduard KUKAN, Minister of Foreign Affairs, for his presence and interest he has brought to the world sector of vine and wine in his excellent opening speech;

GIVES HEARTY THANKS to Mr. Pavol KONCOS, Minister of Agriculture, for his participation in the opening of the Congress and his very complete speech on the vitiviniculture sector in Slovakia, his constant presence in all the events organised during the Congress and his determining contribution to his Ministry for the complete success of the XXVII World Congress of Vine and Wine;

STRESSES the quality of the scientific and technical papers presented within the three sections of the congress on the general theme « Vine and Wine as Reflected by Science «;

CONGRATULATES the members of the Organising Committee of the Congress, particularly the President, whose warm welcome and friendliness ensured the successful nature of the Congress, organised for the first time in Eastern Europe and for the pertinent choice of the INCHEBA centre in Bratislava for the congress, which enabled the congress participants to have perfectly adapted and available modern work conditions;

APPRECIATED the quality and the diversity of Slovakian wines given by the Union of Producers of Slovakian Wines during the remarkably presented wine tastings, which provided for perfectly integrated activity in the organisation of the Congress;

EXPRESSES recognition and gratitude to the members of the Union of Producers of Slovakian wine and other firms, partners of this congress for their role in the organisation of the work meetings and the diverse joint events.
