RESOLUTION AGE 2/2004

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE INTERNATIONAL WINE AND VINE OFFICE,

NOTING, following the deposit of the thirty first instrument of acceptance, ratification or accession, the Agreement of 3 April 2001 establishing the International Organisation of Vine and Wine entered into force on 1 January 2004 according to the provisions of Article 16 paragraph 1 of the mentioned Agreement

WHEREAS the Resolution Comex 2/2002 dealt with the participation in activities of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine the States party to the Agreement of 29 November 1924 not having deposited an instrument of acceptance, approval, ratification or accession to the Agreement of 3 April 2001,

IN VIEW OF Article 16 paragraph 3 of the mentioned Agreement which provides that "The General Assembly of the International Wine and Vine Office defines, under conditions determined by the Agreement of 29 November 1924 as amended and by the Rules of Procedure attached to it, to what extent the States, which have not deposited their instrument of acceptance, approval, ratification or accession may participate in O.I.V activities after the entry into force of this Agreement",

WHEREAS the interest in facilitating the transition between the International Wine and Vine Office and the International Organisation of Vine and Wine, of maintaining or renewing the elective capacity of nationals of member States of the International Vine and Wine Office which are in the process of accepting, approving, ratifying or acceding to the Agreement of 3 April 2001,

DECIDES that nationals of member States of the International Wine and Vine Office which have automatically been granted « observer status » by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine in accordance with Resolution Comex 2/2002 can be maintained or renewed in their elective capacity for the office term up to the General Assembly of 2005, unless the State of which they are nationals has by then become a member and subject to the agreement of the national’s State.
