RESOLUTION AG 9/2004

THE 2ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION OF VINE AND WINE,

MET in Vienna (Austria) on the 9th of July 2004, at the XXVIII  World Congress of Vine and Wine which was held from the 4th to the 8th of July 2004, upon the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Austria:

EXPRESSES HIS GRATITUDE to Mr. Josef Pröll, Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment, and Water Management, for his attendance and for the interest he has shown to the world vine and wine sector in his excellent opening speech;

EXTENDS WARM THANKS to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment, and Water Management, the Government of Land of Lower Austria and for their influential contributions for the complete success and the friendly atmosphere of this XXVIII World Congress of Vine and Wine;

CONGRATULATES the members of the Congress Organising Committee, in particular the President Mr. Josef Pleil, whose warm welcome and friendly spirit have ensured the great success of this congress. The choice of prestigious buildings for the congress, which are part of the historical and cultural heritage of Vienna,  have provided the participants with remarkable working conditions;

HIGHLIGHTS the quality of the technical organisation and the fine cooperation of the scientific secretary of the Congress which enabled the perfect conduct of scientific and technical presentations within the four sections of this Congress on the general theme: « Vine and wine – changes and sustainability »;

APPRECIATED the quality and the diversity of Austrian wines offered by the Austrian viticulture association during the wine tastings, which were exceedingly well presented and which represented a perfectly integrated meeting ground in the organisation of the Congress;

ENSURES the members of the Austrian Viticulture Association and other companies, partners of the Congress of its appreciation and gratitude for their efforts in organising the work meetings and the different joint events.
