UPDATE TO THE MONOGRAPH ON PROTEINS OF PLANT ORIGIN - LIMIT OF SOLANINE
The General Assembly,
CONSIDERING Article 2, paragraph 2 iv of the Agreement of 3 April 2001 establishing the International Organisation of Vine and Wine,
Considering the favourable opinion of the group of experts “Food Safety” CONSIDERING the work of the "Specifications of Oenological Products" Expert Group
DECIDES, on the proposal of Commission II "Oenology", to add the following point 6 to monograph COEI-1-PROVEG of the International Oenological Codex:
6. Research specific for Solanum tuberosum
- Point 6.1 Glycoalkaloids ( solanine & chaconine)
- Proceed with analysis according to AOAC method 997.13
Maximum content less than 300 mg/kg of potatoes protein
The other points are renumbered accordingly
