TECHNIQUES OF VINE PROPAGATION

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

BASED ON THE PROPOSAL of Commission I “ Viticulture ”, taking into account the reports of the Group of Experts, “ Vine Sélection ”, and owing to the fact that the vine propagation techniques (în vitro culture, greengrafting, production of herbaceous and woody cuttings in the greenhouse, etc.) have greatly progressed recently and,

DECLARING that it is not possible to certify this plant material in the countries where that is necessary, and

CONSIDERING the possible unexpected appearance of some cases of temporary juvenility in Vitis vinifera varieties,

WISHES that, in a reasonably short time, a régulation could be finalized, in countries where nec­ essary, on the certification of vine propagation materials resulting from non-traditional techniques as these techniques are mastered.
