77th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

ON the Executive Committee’s proposal,

WHEREAS the decision was taken to hold a Congress in Argentina in December 1997 and to the interest we have to hold the 77th General Assembly in the same place,

WHEREAS article 2 § 3 of the Rules of the Office International de la Vigne et du Vin stipulates that « the session of the General Assembly which conducts the election of the President and the nomination of the Presidents of the Commissions must be held at the Organisations head office ».

WHEREAS article 25 of the Rules of the Office International de la Vigne et du Vins stipulates that "any modification of the present Rules can only be decided by a 2/3 majority of the votes of the Member States represented at the General Assembly"

DECIDES, exceptionally, that the 1997 session of the General Assembly during which the election of the President and the nomination of the Presidents of the Commissions will be conducted, will take place in Argentina.
