MECHANIZATION OF VINE CULTIVATION

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

ON PROPOSAL of Commission I, «Viticulture,»

AFTER HAVING heard the reports presented during the XXIst World Congress of the Vine and Wine which took place in Punta del Este (Uruguay) from the 27th to the 29th of November, 1995, on the theme, «Mechanization of Vine Cultivation,»

NOTING that mechanization is widely spread within viticulture with respect for quality products,

RECOMMENDS the member States encouraging :

• the development of companies,  cooperatives or associations in order to favor, facilitate and allow the use of the highest performing of viticulture material,
• the pursuit of technological innovation in the service of assisting quality, environmental protection, and the adaption of the above to all kinds of vineyards.
