RESOLUTION AG 1/2001

THE 81ST GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

MET IN Adelaide, on 17 October 2001, at the 26th World Congress of Vine and Wine which was held from 12 to 16 October 2001, upon the invitation of the Australian government.

ADDRESSES HIS THANKS to Mr. Alexander Downer, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his presence and great personal interest he has shown for the world vine and wine sector and particularly for the modernizing of the International Office of Vine and Wine resulting from the new International Agreement of 3 April 2001 in his excellent opening speech;

EXPRESSES THANKS ALSO TO Mr. Rob Kerin, Deputy Prime Minister of South Australia, for his participation with the opening o the Congress, with a very comprehensive speech on the vitiviniculture sector of South Australia;

UNDERLINES the quality of scientific and technical papers presented in the four sections of the Congress around the general theme of « Meeting the Consumer Challenge », determinant for the future of world vitiviniculture economics;

CONGRATULATES the Organizing Committee of the Congress, particularly the President, whose qualifications, and warm welcome guaranteed the great success of the 26th World Congress of Vine and Wine organized for the first time in Australia. The apt choice of  « Adelaide Convention Centre » for the Congress enabled the participants to benefit from modern and perfectly adapted work conditions;

APPRECIATED the quality and the diversity of wine tasting offered by the professional partners of the Australian vitiviniculture sector, in addition to other outside functions to which were associated many companies;

ENSURES the company partners of this Congress of his appreciation and the gratitude for their involvement in organizing meetings and other joint events.
