Her Excellency Mrs Corina Călugăru, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in France, has officially announced that the next OIV Scientific Congress will be hosted by the Republic of Moldova, in its capital, Chișinău, from 16 to 20 June 2025.

The launch event took place on the rooftops of Paris on 4 February, at the Maison de l'Alsace, bringing together the international community, embassies, and foreign media. Alongside Her Excellency the Ambassador, the State Secretary of the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Mr Andrian Digolean, and Mr Ștefan Iamandi, Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine of Moldova, were present to share their strong commitment and enthusiasm for the organisation of the OIV Congress, as well as to present Moldovan vitiviniculture, past and present.
The OIV World Congress of Vine and Wine is a major event for the global vine and wine sector. It brings together hundreds of researchers, stakeholders, and state delegates from all continents to share the latest scientific advances and to participate in the OIV General Assembly.
Recalling the theme of the 2025 Congress in Moldova, “Charting the Future of Vine and Wine: Embracing Resilience, Elevating Value, Fostering Innovation”, John Barker, Director General of the OIV, highlighted in his speech: “This is the way forward. This is precisely what the vine and wine sector must be focused on: resilience, value, and innovation.”

Moldova, with its highly dynamic wine economy focused both on innovation and the enhancement of heritage, will offer a rich and inspiring setting for the next OIV World Congress.
"It’s about a vision, it’s about a dream": thank you, Madam Ambassador, for these welcoming words that mark the opening of the 46th World Congress of Vine and Wine.
