IRON LIMIT IN THE OIV MONOGRAPHS ON PVI/PVP
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,
In view of article 2, paragraph 2 iv of the agreement of 3rd April 2001 establishing the International Organisation of Vine and Wine;
CONSIDERING the work of the "Specifications of oenological products" expert group;
CONSIDERING that Iron is a common ingredient/usual accompanying material in production processes via e.g. water and equipment.
CONSIDERING that the content of iron has no influence on the technological properties of the PVI/PVP copolymer.
CONSIDERING that the actual limit of iron content must be less than 1 mg/kg but several trials show that the maximum level is too low;
DECIDE to modify the monograph COEI-1-PVIPVP as follow:

In the point 5.5 IRON:
The iron content must be less than 5 mg/kg
