ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The XXIst World Congress of Vine and Wine and the 75th General Assembly of the O.I.V. assembled from 27th November to 2nd December 1995 in Punta del Este, on the invitation of the Government of Uruguay,

THANK his excellency the President of the Republic of Uruguay for his  presence  and  for  the personal interest he has taken in the O.I.V. activities, and especially those of the Congress;

THEY ALSO THANK the members of the Government and the national, regional and municipal authorities for their participation in the different activities;

THEY COMPLIMENT  especially  the  President  of  the  I.NA.VI,  the  members  of  the  Institute,  as well as their collaborators for the warmth of their welcome and for the very high quality of the organisation;

THEY ASSURE the professional participants of their gratitude for the part they have played in the organisation of the meetings and receptions and gladly emphasize the successful quality of the wines presented to the delegates.

DECLARATION

W.T.O. : DECLARATION OF THE PRESIDENT APPROVED BY CONSENSUS

The General Assembly of the Office International de la Vigne et du Vin, aware of the O.I.V.’s scientific and technical knowledge and of its reference position as an international organization competent within the vitivinicultural sector, requests the Executive Committee to determine the role and conditions of participation of the O.I.V. in the World Trade Organization (W.T.O.) and mandates the Director General to continue his contacts with this organization and to report to the Executive Committee on the subject (unabridged version).
