THE XXIIIrd WORLD VINE AND WINE CONGRESS and THE 78th GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE O.I.V.,

GATHERED from 22 to 26 June 1998 in Lisbon, on the invitation of the Government of Portugal,

THANK the Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic for his presence and the personal interest he has shown in the activities of the O.I.V. and particularly those of the Congress,

THANK the Minister of Agrriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries as well as the State Secretary for Agro-food production for their effective participation in the different events,

COMPLIMENT the President of the Association of the Congress, the members of this Association, as well as their collaborators, for the great quality of their reception, the remarkabke organisation and the excellent working conditions of the Congress, which has been exceptionally successful,

EXPRESS their recognition and gratitude to the Public Authorities, Interprofessional and Professional Organisations, Businesses, Societies, Companies, which have taken part or participated in the meeting of the Sections and Commissions of the Congress of the O.I.V. as well as the different receptions,

UNDERLINE, with great pleasure, the success of this great event, to which the delegates and participants at the Congress have been associated, as well as the quality of the wines submitted tp their appreciation.
