EVALUATION METHODOLOGY FOR THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF VITIVINICULTURE ON A TERRITORY
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,
ACKNOWLEDGING that the socio-economic and environmental impacts of vitiviniculture surpasses the simple consideration of revenue generated by production;
ACKNOWLEDGING that the impact of the socio-cultural attractiveness of vitivinicultural territory on its economic development;
ACKNOWLEDGING the socio-economic evaluation of public holdings, “amenities”
and all the externalities of viticultural activities which are lacking namely during the decision-making process or when alternatives to this activity are foreseeable;
CONSIDERING that Resolution ECO 1/99 entitled “Development of the economic viability of the vitivinicultural sector”,
WISHES that the member countries:
- support research aimed at finalising evaluation methodologies based on recent analysis of the public economy and the environment,
- facilitate the gathering of socio-economic data regarding activities derived from or implicated in vitivinicultural activities,
- actively cooperate with the O.I.V. Experts group "Analysis of Markets and the Vitivinicultural Sector" in order to define the most appropriate evaluation methodologies.
