RESOLUTION AG 2/2004

ELECTIONS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE O.I.V., THE CHAIRPERSONS OF THE COMMITTEES AND SUB-COMMITTEES OF THE O.I.V., AND THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE O.I.V.:

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF VINE AND WINE, at its first meeting,

WHEREAS article 5 paragraph 4.a of the Agreement governing the creation of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, signed in Paris on April 3, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement") which stipulates the conditions for the election of the President of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, of the Chairpersons of the Committees and the Sub-committees and of the Director General,

WHEREAS the election procedures must be established by the Rules of procedure of the International Organization of Vine and Wine in accordance with the Agreement of April 3, 2001, and that until the adoption of the new Rules of procedure of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, the Rules of procedure of the International Office of Vine and Wine remain in effect, in particular those concerning the election procedures,

WHEREAS the positions of President, Committee Chairpersons and Director General of the International Office of Vine and Wine were filled at the time of the 83rd General Assembly of the International Office of Vine and Wine on June 18 and 19, 2003, as follows:

• President of the Office: Mr. Reiner WITTKOWSKI (Germany)
• Chairperson of Committee I: Mr. Peter BEAM (Australia)
• Chairperson of Committee II:  Mr. Jean-Luc BERGER (France)
• Chairperson of Committee III: Mr. Philippe HUNZIKER (Switzerland)
• Director General: Mr. Federico CASTELLUCCI (Italy)

WHEREAS the positions of the Chairpersons of the Sub-committees of the International Office of Vine and Wine were filled at their meetings of March 2001,

WHEREAS the Director General wrote to all the member States in a call for applications for the positions of Chairperson of the Methods of Analysis Sub-committee and that of Chairperson of the Wine, Nutrition and Health Sub-committee and noting that only two applications were received and corresponded to the past Chairpersons,

• Chairperson of the Analysis Methods Sub-committee: Mr. Alain BERTRAND (France)
• Chairperson of the Wine, Nutrition, and Health Sub-committee: Mr. Alberto BERTELLI (Italy)

WHEREAS Resolution AG 1/2004 decided to maintain, until the General Assembly following the year of entry into force of the Agreement, the same Committees, Sub-committees and Groups of Experts within the International Organization of Vine and Wine as they existed in the Office,

HEREBY decides to modify the Rules of procedure of the International Office of Vine and Wine in order to facilitate the transition between the International Office of Vine and Wine and the International Organization of Vine and Wine,

HEREBY decides by consensus to elect

• To the position of President of the Organization:  Mr. Reiner WITTKOWSKI (Germany)
• To the position of Chairperson of Committee I: Mr. Peter BEAM (Australia)
• To the position of Chairperson of Committee II: Mr. Jean-Luc BERGER (France)
• To the position of Chairperson of Committee III: Mr. Philippe HUNZIKER (Switzerland)
• To the position of Chairperson of the Analysis Methods Sub-committee: Mr. Alain BERTRAND (France)
• To the position of Chairperson of the Wine, Nutrition, and Health Sub-committee:  Mr. Alberto BERTELLI (Italy)
• To the position of Director General: Mr. Federico CASTELLUCCI (Italy)

HEREBY decides that the elections to the positions of President of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, of the Chairpersons of the Committee and Sub-committee will be held during the General Assembly of the International Organization of Vine and Wine in 2006 and that the election of the Director General of the International Organization of Vine and Wine will be held during the General Assembly of the International Organization of Vine and Wine of 2008, in accordance with the methods stipulated by article 5 paragraph 4.a of the Agreement.
