MONOGRAPH ON PROTEINS OF PLANT ORIGIN – UPDATE TO THE SPECIFICATION FOR IRON AND OTHER METALS

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

In view of Article 2, paragraph 2 iv of the Agreement establishing the International Organisation of Vine and Wine,

At the proposal of the “Specifications of Oenological Products” Expert Group,

DECIDES to modify file COEI-1-PROVEG of the International Oenological Codex as follows:

Within point 3 "Test Trials":

In point 3.5 "Iron", the iron content is increased to the limit of 300 mg/Kg exclusively for proteins from peas and potatoes.

“The iron content must be less than 150 mg/kg, with the exception of proteins from peas and

potatoes, whose content should be less than 300 mg/kg.”

In point 3.8 "Zinc", the zinc content is increased to the limit of 150 mg/Kg exclusively for proteins from peas.

The zinc content must be less than 50 mg/kg, with the exception of proteins from peas, whose content should be less than or equal to 150 mg/kg.
