RESOLUTION OENO 21/2004

SUBSTITUTION OF SUGAR TABLE

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

IN VIEW of Article 2 paragraph iv of the Agreement of 3 April 2001 establishing the International Organisation of Vine and Wine,

CONSIDERING, the International Recommendation approved by the International Conference of Legal Metrology in 1996 concerning Refractometers for measuring the sugar content of grape musts (OIML R 124);

CONSIDERING the need to ensure the coordination of different tables with those established by the International Commission for the Unification of Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA);

UPON PROPOSAL of the Sub-Commission of Methods of Analysis of Wine,

DECIDES to replace in the Compendium of International Methods of Analysis of Wines and Musts, table I and table II of the method of determination of sugar content in musts, concentrated musts and grape sugar by refractometry, by the following tables and to complete the method with table IV: “Correspondence table between the refractive index in reference, at 6 decimals, conditions and the percentage by mass of saccharose solutions”.
