RESOLUTION ECO 1/98

MODIFICATION OF THE RESOLUTION ECO 3/91 « COMPULSORY INDICATIONS IN THE LABELING OF SPIRITS OF VITIVINICULTURAL ORIGIN »

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

ON THE PROPOSAL of Commission III « Vitivinicultural economy », after a study of the « Study of Spirits Beverages and Alcohols of Vitivnicultural Origin » Expert group;

CONSIDERING

THAT the same technical terms should be used in the O.I.V resolutions to designate the same products, while seeing that the scope of application be identical;

CONSIDERING

THAT the reglementary expression to designate vine-spirits should be « SPIRITS BEVERAGES of vitivinicultural origin »,

MODIFIES the wording of resolution ECO 3/91 (adopted in Paris on 6 September 1991):

• In the title, the term « Spirits of vitivinicultural origin » is replaced by « SPIRITS BEVERAGES of vitivinicultural origin »;
• Completes its scope of application by adding to the list of products : « LEES SPIRITS »;

NOTES that the wording of resolutions ECO 3/91, ECO 2/97 and ECO 3/97 is perfectly harmonised.
