Conditions for development of viticultural equipment

RESOLUTION VITI 2/97

CONDITIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF VITICULTURAL EQUIPMENT

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

AFTER HEARING the reports presented to Commission I « Viticulture » on the application to protection and vine harvesting farming techniques of the use of artificial intelligence, robotics and modelisation,

NOTES:

  • That viticulture, like other economic activities, uses more and more modern technologies to improve its working conditions and that all aspects of the  chain are concerned from  pruning to the conditioning of the harvested product,
  • That, usually, the viticultural enterprises ensure the maintenance of their equipment and tools themselves,
  • That concern is increasingly directed towards the protection of the environment and the safety of the operator;

RECOMMENDS:

  • That at the time of the conception of the equipment or during the formulation of regulations, the socio-economic constraints of the viticultural companies and those of the environment be better taken into consideration,
  • That the manufacturers developing new equipment use, to this end, state-of-the-art technology, and also take into account the need for facilitating  maintenance of their tools within the viticultural enterprise;

WISHES

  • That experience acquired in the viticultural and oenological sector to be compared and formulated as a synergy, in order to improve the protection of the environment and, above all, that of the operators in the vitivinicultural sector.
