TROPICAL VITICULTURE

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

ON PROPOSAL of Commission I, «Viticulture,»

READ the works of the XXIst World Congress of the Vine and Wine which took place at Punta del Este (Uruguay) from the 27th to the 29th of November, 1995, on the theme of «South American Viticultural Zonage;»

TAKING NOTE of the undeniably special characteristics and interest of vine cultivation within the tropical and sub-tropical environment,

RECOMMENDS

• To Member States interested in tropical viticulture to develop activities and research on this theme.

ASKS

• The « Vine Physiology » expert group to ensure the follow-up of these works and the coordination with the other concerned expert groups.
