LIST OF OIV DESCRIPTORS FOR VITIS VARIETIES AND SPECIES

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

BASED ON the work of the former “Vine  Selection”, Experts group and on the proposal of Commission 1 “Viticulture” and the “Genetic Resources and Vine Selection” experts group,

CONSIDERING the importance of harmonising Vitis variety descriptors between the  OIV and other international organisations, particularly exchanges made with this objective with UPOV,

CONSIDERING the progress made in the description and identification of Vitis varieties field since the 1st edition of “Descriptor list of grape vine varieties and Vitis species” of the OIV.

DECIDES to adopt and publish the 2nd OIV edition of Vitis variety and species descriptors entitled: “OIV Descriptor list of grape vine varieties and Vitis speciese”.

REQUESTS to adapt the OIV descriptor of Vitis varieties and species based on the 1st edition of “Descriptor list of grape vine varieties and Vitis species”, to the new Code.
