Name: Leaf: degree of resistance to black rot
Description: In field, to be observed in environments usually affected by the black rot (Phyllosticta ampelicida), at least in two periods: flowering (BBCH: 60-69) and bunch closure (BBCH 77-79) stages. Verify the extent and size of the typical brown lesions/spots, with purplish edges and characteristic pycnidia. Examination of leaves from the basal and middle third of the shoot. Extension of infected black rot (Phyllosticta ampelicida) patches after artificial inoculation of at least 3 potted plants.
1 = Many extended or not limited lesions up to totally affected leaf blades - many pycnidia - early leaf drop.
3 = Several lesions with pycnidia on two or more leaves.
5 = Few lesions (< 2 cm) with single pycnidia - one or two leaves show symptoms.
7 = One lesion with a diameter of less than 2 cm – no pycnidia.
9 = No visible symptoms.
