The OIV celebrates the election of a new President, the adoption of a new Strategic Plan and 13 new resolutions during its centenary General Assembly.
The OIV General Assembly marked the conclusion of the 45th World Congress of Vine and Wine, hosted by France in Dijon from 14 to 18 October 2024.
The OIV's centenary congress welcomed 756 participants, from more than 40 countries. The event featured 265 oral scientific presentations, 345 digital posters, and 125 printed posters displayed on-site.
Yvette van der Merwe elected new OIV President
Yvette van der Merwe has been elected President of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) for a three-year mandate at the OIV General Assembly in Dijon, France, on 18 October 2024.

The OIV new strategic plan for 2025-2029 adopted during the Assembly, focuses on six priorities aimed at addressing global challenges in the wine and vine sector.
Five OIV Merit Awards presented
During the assembly, the OIV presented its prestigious Merit Awards to four distinguished individuals and one entity for their remarkable contributions to the Organisation.
